4RemoteHealth enables remote collaboration between medical teams and enhances training for healthcare professionals and students at the center.
Zerintia HealthTech has strengthened its position as a trusted technology partner of the Ministry of Defense following the renewal of its 4RemoteHealth platform service at the ‘Gómez Ulla’ Central Defense Hospital. For the third year in a row, the digital health solution developed by the Spanish company has been selected by the Ministry to enhance real-time remote collaboration among healthcare professionals at the hospital.
The SaaS (Software as a Service) subscription model of 4RemoteHealth allows clinicians and medical teams to access the platform in a flexible, secure and scalable way, without the need for complex installations or in-house infrastructure management. This approach is particularly well suited to organizations such as the Armed Forces, which require agile, interoperable and easily upgradable solutions.
The primary objective of 4RemoteHealth at Spain’s leading military hospital is to improve communication between surgical teams across different specialties (trauma, spine, general surgery, etc.) and to support the training of its professionals.
Thanks to 4RemoteHealth, specialists can collaborate remotely by sharing, in real time, video feeds from medical equipment such as C-arms, endoscopes or patient monitors. High-quality imaging and communication are essential in critical environments such as operating rooms, ICUs, ambulances or emergency departments.
The platform also enhances medical education at the hospital, enabling students, residents and healthcare staff to follow live procedures. It is especially valuable for teleproctoring, providing real-time remote clinical support during surgeries, allowing experts to supervise and guide interventions while learners observe without needing to be physically present in the operating room.
The Central Defense Hospital has a pioneering Telemedicine Unit, created in 1996 to provide remote medical support in operational deployments. With 1,235 beds, it serves as the national reference center for medical consultations and evacuations of Armed Forces personnel deployed on international missions.
